Right now, you're thinking about
being somewhere other than sitting at your computer. You NEED to get
away. Maybe it's stress from your job. Too many deadlines, again.
Perhaps your anniversary or your birthday is approaching and you want to
do something more romantic and special than what you did last year. Or
maybe you're planning your next vacation and you've considered driving
along the
Great Lakes
as part of your travel plans. Maybe, just maybe, everyday stresses have
you thinking that a weekend away from work or the kids might be exactly
what you need. We can help.
Lake View
is the perfect get-away for rejuvenation or celebration.
Whether you'd prefer to walk down
the grand staircase to the lake or rest comfortably in your cozy room,
we are your relaxation headquarters. Many of our guests have been coming
here for years, some for decades, and the serenity of our eight acres is
what keeps them coming back. We offer clean, charming accommodations in a
spectacular setting. We
have only 13 rooms so we’re never crowded. And we are located away
from city traffic (yet we’re just 10 miles from downtown Erie
Bay Front).
Need to clear your mind? Call us. We
have just the place…

The
Property...
Beautiful
Year Round -Back to Top

|
|
|
Our peaceful, park-like
property is located on the shoreline of
Lake Erie
. In fact, of the 50 or so miles of Lake Erie coastline in
Pennsylvania
, we offer the only lodging right "on the lake". To get
to the lake, descend the grand solid wood staircase and scale the last
few feet of shale. Relax along the way on the built-in seats overlooking
the lush greenery and gurgling stream of the ravine.
Spring
is wonderful time to rekindle romantic interests. Spend some quality
time reacquainting yourselves while strolling down to the lake or along
nearby vineyards, or just relaxing in your room playing a board game and
enjoying libations from local wineries.
During the Summer, you'll want to take a dip in our
heated outdoor swimming pool. Or perhaps you’d prefer badminton,
horseshoes, practicing your short game (Golf), or bocce on our expansive lawns. Find shade under one of the
many trees and just let yourself drift away in that book you've put off
reading... until now! You can even select a board game from the lobby
and sit at one of our picnic tables in the shade. We've found that
relaxing in our wonderful Adirondack chairs overlooking the lake from
our 120 foot perch is most people’s favorite pastime, however!
Fall is
particularly peaceful and romantic. Autumn's paints are splashed upon
the maple trees and the delicious scent of concord grapes fills the
chilly evening air. You'll want to take morning strolls or afternoon
drives along the vineyards. Daytrips to
Findley
Lake
, Peak 'n Peek, Panama Rocks, or
Presque
Isle
State Park
make for pleasant excursions, all within a half-hour's drive!
During the Winter, bring along some warm clothing and take an
invigorating stroll down to the frozen lake. The tranquility of the ice
dunes will mesmerize you and capture your childhood imagination. Upon
returning to your cozy room, take off your shoes and pour yourselves a
glass of the wine you purchased at one of several local wineries. Return
to the early days of your romance by enjoying some quiet time playing a
board game, or reading poetry to each other. An eclectic collection, our
modest but ever expanding selection of books may offer just what you
need to feed your reading appetite while sipping complimentary tea. As long as you're content, we're
content.

Your
Accommodations...

All of our guestrooms
are non-smoking, though smoking is permitted outdoors.
We have a six-unit Motel with guestrooms that have one
Queen bed and a loveseat or Two Double beds. We also have three
freestanding Mini-Cottages each with one Double bed and
front porch with
Adirondack
chairs during the warmer seasons. All of these units include a small
microwave, refrigerator, and complimentary coffee. We have two One-Bedroom Suites
that each has a Queen bedroom with a winged-back chair and a separate
living room/kitchenette with a table, and sofa. These
quarters also have a front porch complete with Adirondack chairs. Finally, there is the secluded Family
Cottage that has two bedrooms, each with a Double bed, a full eat
-in-kitchen, and Living Room. It is
located in a wooded area on our property, away from the other
guestrooms, thereby offering the greatest privacy. In addition to the
previously described amenities, the family cottage has its own picnic table
and bench swing, as well as its own private campfire area. If you prefer more luxurious surroundings we offer “Annie’s
Retreat”. This suite has a
queen bedroom with a walk in closet; living room with queen sized sofa
bed, dining room, full kitchen, two bathrooms, private deck, gorgeous
views of Lake Erie Sunsets and our beautiful grounds and pool.
Please keep in mind that we have
only 13 guest accommodations. Due to space limitations and in order to
maintain the clean and peaceful environment our guests desire, we have
now established a two
person maximum capacity for all guestrooms that have one
bed (including the suites) and a four
person maximum capacity for all guestrooms that have two
beds (including the family cottage). We will not squeeze four adults into a
room with two beds; that has proven to be too loud for guests’
next-door. Four adults are welcome to occupy the two-bedroom family cottage
or rent two separate rooms. We're happy to accommodate small families of
4 or fewer in a motel room with two Double beds or in the family cottage
with two bedrooms. We're sorry, but we have no cots or cribs for
additional little ones, nor do we normally permit anyone to sleep on the
floor or on a sofa. Thank you for understanding the delicate balance we
continually strive for given the small size of our lovely facility.
We're sorry, but for various
health and noise reasons, and in the interest of all guests staying with
us, we do NOT allow pets of any kind.

The
Great Lake...

The property sits atop a 120-foot
bluff overlooking
the Great Lake Erie
. This allows for spectacular views! If you’ve never been to any of
the
Great Lakes
, you’ll be impressed by the lake’s sheer size. Like the ocean, the
lake stretches out to create the horizon. You can only imagine the
splendor of watching a summer storm brewing over the water, or the
simple joy of hearing and seeing Canadian geese flocked atop floating
islands of ice in the winter. If you’re fortunate enough to be here
while
Erie
’s flagship, the
Niagara
, sails by in full regalia, you are in for a rare and very special
treat. Above all, we are certain you will not forget the delight of the
world famous
Erie
sunsets; they will tranquilize your thoughts and help complete your days
of relaxation at Lake
View. |

Our
Rates...
Our
rates vary, depending on the type of room, number of people per room,
and season. For 2008, Motel Rooms and Mini-Cottages range from $89 to
$134 per night, plus tax. Suites range from $145 to $225 plus tax. Reservations are
usually made in advance; summer weekends sometimes fill several weeks in
advance. In the warm months, we tend to have all 13 units occupied by
reservation from Thursday thru Saturday nights. Mid-week occupancy is
often a combination of guests with reservations and drive-by travelers.
A deposit of one night's stay is paid by credit card at the time of
reservation, with the balance paid at time of arrival. Because we
rent almost exclusively by reservation and we have so
few rooms, we appreciate your understanding that we must enforce a 72-hour
cancellation policy. This means that cancellations made
less than 3 days prior to arrival are subject to deposit forfeiture.
Your room deposit, less a $10 cancellation fee, is refunded only if the
cancellation is made more than 72 hours from our 1 p.m. check-in time on
the first date of reservation, or if the room is ultimately rented to
someone else. |
